Brandin 803-2df HB BR
Brandin 803-2df HB BR; 8 ft 2pc/2 tips hexagonal semi-hollow rod at 3 oz for #3 line. This is a very unusual rod, built for myself in 2021 and inspired by the rare old Leonard green rods from about 100 years ago. I dyed the entire rod green to better camouflage it when fishing against a backdrop of green foliage as is often the case here in the East. It is also marked 'Green Hornet' as a nod to Sam Carlson who had a demo rod on his rack when I would visit he dubbed the 'Green Hornet'; it was a seven foot rod for #4 line with green wraps. The 'BR' designation is a reference to it being what Paul Young called a 'barrel rod', assembled from blanks already built and in the shop. I mated a solid butt to semi-hollow tips to come up with a great casting dry fly rod with ultra-fine tips. Tip tops are size 3 from the old Payne shop, as this size is no longer available from any current supplier I am aware of. A one-of-a-kind rod, though not impossible that I would build another dyed green in the future; it is actually quite a beautiful rod. Lawn cast only, with original rod rod bag (can be replaced with current desert gold bag if desired) and labeled tube. The tube is an old one I cut the threads on myself, a left-over from before I got smart and farmed this work out. For Domestic Sale Only SOLD
