E.C. Powell 9½ ft 2pc/2 tips 5⅝ oz semi-hollow 'Steelhead C'. This rod comes from my personal collection and appears at the start of chapter 15, pg. 169 of my just published book on E.C. Powell "A Fly Rod With a Soul." I purchased the rod from Jim Adams some years ago as part of my research for writing the book and it is the most powerful 'Steelhead C' I've come across. It wants a WF9 line and easily handles long casts for wet fly steelhead or salmon angling, as well as being particularly good with sinking tips and sinking heads. Jim described the rod on his paper label as "very good / fine"; the rod has seen a good amount of use, but remains straight as a pin. I will touch up a few spots of varnish chips and the rod will be ready to fish without worry. You will be amazed at the casting quality of these C taper Powells designed for larger flies and also excellent bass bugging rods.
