Here is an out-take from the wonderful film by Tinboat Productions, Chasing the Taper. I often get the question from people about how strong semi-hollow rods are and this video will to some extent answer that. I know from my own experience in landing a great many salmon, large trout, steelhead and even tarpon, that my semi-hollow rods hold up very well over time. Because semi-hollow rods also have a larger percentage of power fibers compared with solid rods, they also have less tendency to take a 'set.'
