F.E. Thomas Browntone 7½ ft. 2pc/2 tips
F.E. Thomas Browntone 7½ ft. 2pc/2 tips, butt cap stamped FE521. As I sometimes see with Thomas rods, this one has tips of differing taper, one decidedly stronger than the other. Quite a fast action that should do well with a #5 line with either tip. Rod has had an overcoat over what looks like the original wraps. Rod was built in 1948 and delivered in 1949. Interesting to note that the Thomas ledger identifies the weight of this rod as 3¾ oz while the tag which is clearly original states 3⅛ oz. My scale puts the actual weight at 3¾ oz, so the ledger for this rod is correct while the tag is not; small mistakes do happen in a rod shop! Reverse twist 'English' guides, some of which are a more open pattern than others. In original bag with tag and brass capped tube. SOLD
