Dickerson 861711D
~Dickerson 861711D, 8½ ft 3pc/2 tips for #5-6 lines. This is perhaps the nicest and lightest action of this model rod I have had in my hand, just a touch lighter feel than the rod of the same model and era I just recently sold. Unfortunately it is too cold for me to cast it, but my deflection board tells me it is a strongish DT5 line rod. Superb dampening and feel, I hope I do have the chance to cast it when things warm a bit here in Massachusetts. Built in the 1930's, this rod remains in superb original condition and finish. Agate stripping guide and American pattern tungsten steel high bridge snakes as is standard on Dickersons of this era. I did many years ago have the chance to fish one of Tom Clark's Dickersons of this same model on the North Fork Ausable and as usual from this maker, it fished superbly. For me, Dickerson rods are better on the water than on the lawn and this model is certainly one of the great American trout rods. In original bag with Dickerson's script on flap and original brass capped tube. SOLD Click on smaller images to enlarge
