R. L. Winston 8 ft. 3pc/2 tips, 4⅛ oz
R. L. Winston 8 ft. 3pc/2 tips, 4⅛ oz #5 line. Winston was known almost exclusively for two piece rods for most of their history, though they did make many solid 3 pc rods in the 1920's and early 30's. It was when Tom Morgan and Glenn Brackett were at Winston in the early to mid 1980's that they developed these 8 ft. 3 pc hollow-fluted rods. There is just something about three piece rods that tend to have a very smooth feel to me and this is a good example of that; a very nice caster with a DT or WF5 line. This example remains in at least excellent + condition with an agate stripping guide, duronze ferrules, Glenn's special touch of a bamboo check at the front of the grip and a down-locking n/s reel-seat. Serial number is 3306 built in 1998. In original bag and labeled tube.
