Dickerson 861711 Calcutta Cane collector's rod, 8½ ft 3pc/2 tips
Dickerson 861711 Calcutta Cane collector's rod, 8½ ft 3pc/2 tips. This is a rare version of this classic Dickerson taper built form Calcutta bamboo imported in 1890. As such and presumably because of the softer action of this India grown bamboo, this rod is much lighter in action than standard rods of this model; in my hand it is best with a #4 line. Rod is dead straight and appears to have seen little if any use. It belonged at one time to my friend and fellow rod-maker Jack Coyle who subsequently sold it to Tom Clark. Condition is excellent throughout with perfect varnish and ferrule fits. Stripping guide is agate with American pattern snake guides. In original bag and tube for the discerning Dickerson collector from the collection of Thomas H. Clark.
