Tom Morgan Rodsmiths 7 ft. 2pc/2 tips for #3 line
Tom Morgan Rodsmiths 7 ft. 2pc/2 tips for #3 line, ser. no. 43. These Rodsmiths rods built while Tom Morgan was still alive and monitoring their build, with his wife Gerri Carlson doing the wrapping and finishing, are in strong demand. This one remains in very lightly used excellent condition and as with all of Tom's designs, this is a wonderful caster. I was blessed to be involved with Tom in casting the prototypes he came up with along with other accomplished casters, after which Tom would tweak the designs based on our comments as he was unable to cast the rods himself. It is amazing to me how Tom, out of his natural feel and understanding of rod action, combined with many years of experience, was able to create such great casting rods even when unable to cast because of his MS. Tom and I agreed that the 7 ft #3 line and the 7½ ft #5 line models were the absolute best. As usually happened with these rods there is some discoloration of the cork grip from the black inside of the rod bag. This can be easily removed with very fine sandpaper if desired. This one comes in the original very fancy rod bag and tube with chess-piece like accents and original outer tube bag with closure. From the Thomas H. Clark collection.
