~Dickerson 8614, 8½ ft 2pc/2 tips. I had never felt affection for Dickerson rods until last September when I had a chance to cast a good number of them while staying and fishing with friends in Maine. I even got to fish a model 8615 on a medium sized river and the light went off for me, "now I understand why some people just love these rods!" Just great performance on the water. This one casts a #5 line with authority and great range from in close to reaching out with longer casts. Condition overall is excellent with perfect ferrule fits and bamboo straight and true, though the varnish shows its age and could use some TLC to feel more confident fishing this rod. Although the cork shows soiling, there is no ridging and the grip is in good shape. A new website Dickersonrods.com has recently been created by one of the most knowledgeable people on Dickersons and is loaded with insights and information on these distinctive rods not found elsewhere. He also holds the original Dickerson ledger and is willing to share information on individual rods for those with questions about a rod they own.
