This Payne remains in remarkable, excellent + original condition and finish and these model 205 rods show up much less often than the often seen 204 which is a lighter action. It has the typical smooth and wonderful Payne progressive action, functioning for me best with a #6 line. Perfection stripping guide and reverse-twist, English tungsten steel snakes. Stamping is only 'Payne / Reg US Pat Off.' so rod was likely picked up directly from the Payne shop, rather than being sold through a dealer. This is a great example of the beauty inherent in Jim Payne's work; as I often say "There is nothing like a Payne." In original bag with tag and original blue labeled Payne tube. SOLD
