~Mark Canfield 7'8" 2pc/2 tips 'Special Bass Bug Tournament' built for DT6 or WF7 line. Action on this rod is just a touch stronger than the rod above and I prefer it with a WF7 line. With that line it has good feel and lots of power, perfect especially for larger dry flies, or I would certainly use this as a wonderful grilse rod. On his 'Red Willow & Co.' paper label, Mark says a great deal about this rod, making it distinctive. On the 'Style' line of his label he writes "powerful, modified 'Tournament-style' flex and character." He goes on to mention that the cane for this rod came from E.C. Powell via Tony Maslan in 1984. He further describes the making of this custom built rod; "Vintage silks, no varnish, shellac or lacquer used on seat: hand-made 3-part 100% organic formula hand-rubbed into seat, in 14 separate applications."
