~Jim Reams 8'3" 2pc/2 tips for #4-5 lines. Jim is one of the California makers who was discussed in the California Flyfisher article in 2005 "Western Bamboo Renaissance" and I also include him in my recently released book about the life and rod work of E.C. Powell. I knew Jim well in those years living in California and have always admired the quality and integrity of his rod work. He also happens to be a wonderful artist; many, if not most, of the makers I admire have an arts background. We shared ideas back and forth in those years, basing the semi-hollow construction on ideas evolved out of the pioneering work of E.C. Powell. As I mention in my book, Jim also worked for some years with Walton Powell and has a depth of understanding for the tapers and semi-hollow design of Walton's father, E.C. This rod has seen careful use and remains in excellent condition throughout with one exception which allows me to offer this rod at a very reasonable price; one tip has a short 'invisible' wrap covering a hook dig, the protective wrap done by Jim some years ago. Rod is straight and ferrule fits are perfect. A great example of the western hollow-built tradition from a premier maker at a very reasonable price. In original bag and labeled brass-capped tube. $1,700 SOLD
