~E.C. Powell 8 ft 2pc/2 tips semi-hollow A taper. It is very rare to find an original Powell of this vintage (pre-WWII) of this length and light action. Rod is straight with good ferrule fits and with original finish, including the 'narrow / wide / narrow / wide' wraps from grip to agate stripping guide. Cork shows very slight ridging from cork age, but minor and not at all objectionable for a rod of this age. Taper for this rod is given on page 197 of my book "A Fly Rod With a Soul" along with a brief discussion of its action. Action is wonderfully delicate, casting a #4 line with great feel.
